Privacy Policy for Glow Path

Introduction

Glow Path ("we," "our," or "the App") is a neon-themed path connection puzzle game. We take your privacy seriously, and this Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Important Notice: Glow Path is an offline game. Your game data is stored on your device. You may optionally sign in with Google Play Games to sync your progress through Google Play Games cloud save. Glow Path does not operate its own servers.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information (via Google Play Games)

If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, Google provides us with:

• Display Name: Your Google Play Games display name (gamer tag)
• Player ID: Your Google Play Games player ID
• Avatar: Your Google Play Games profile image

We do not receive or store your email address. Signing in is entirely optional — the game is fully playable without it.

1.2 Crash Diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics)

To improve app stability, when the App unexpectedly crashes we automatically collect:

• Crash Stack Trace: The exception type, message, and call stack at the moment of the crash
• Device Information: Device model, manufacturer, OS version, app version, and available RAM/storage at crash time
• Crashlytics Installation ID: A randomly generated, anonymous identifier that lets us group crashes from the same install. It is not linked to your Google account, email, or any personal identifier, and can be reset by clearing app data or reinstalling

Crash reports are used solely for diagnosing and fixing bugs. They do not contain the content of your puzzles, messages, or any personal data.

1.3 Game Data

The following game data is stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Google Play Games, it is also synced to Google Play Games cloud save (Saved Games) so you can restore it on another device:

• Game Progress: Your level completion status and puzzle solutions
• Game Statistics: Play time, moves count, completion rates, and best scores
• Achievements: Unlocked achievements and badges (also recorded in your Google Play Games profile)
• Daily Challenge Results: Your daily challenge scores and completion status
• Leaderboard Score: Your Daily Challenge score, submitted to the Google Play Games leaderboard

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your email address
• We do not operate our own servers, and we never send your data to any server we control
• We do not use any advertising or analytics SDK
• We do not collect your location data
• We do not collect your contacts or phone number
• We do not access your camera or device storage
• We do not collect any financial or payment information directly

2. Permissions Explanation

2.1 Internet Permission (INTERNET)

• Purpose: To sign in to Google Play Games, sync your progress through Play Games cloud save, submit your Daily Challenge score to the Play Games leaderboard, and upload anonymous crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics. Daily challenges are generated on your device and are not downloaded from any server.
• Details: All network communication is handled by Google's SDKs over HTTPS

2.2 Backup Scope

• Google Drive Auto Backup is enabled and limited to your game progress only (DataStore preferences and legacy SharedPreferences). This lets you restore your progress after reinstalling the App or switching to a new device.
• Caches and transient data are explicitly excluded from backup — including any Play Games licensing cache and the app's cache/ directory. These are never written to Google Drive and cannot be extracted via local backup tools (e.g. adb backup, device-transfer), because the same allow-list applies to both channels.
• Cross-device progress sync is also available through Google Play Games Cloud Save, which you can disable at any time by signing out.

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Account Information

• To identify you within Google Play Games
• To display your name and avatar on Google Play Games leaderboards
• To sync your game progress across devices through Play Games cloud save

3.2 Game Data

• To save and restore your game progress across devices via Play Games cloud save
• To submit your Daily Challenge score to the Google Play Games leaderboard
• To track your achievements and unlock rewards

4. Data Security

• On-device Storage: Your game data is kept in the App's private storage, isolated by the Android system sandbox
• Encryption in Transit: All network traffic (Play Games cloud save, leaderboard, crash reports) is carried by Google's SDKs over HTTPS/TLS
• Authentication: Google Play Games provides secure, token-based sign-in; we never see or store your Google password
• Cloud Storage: Cloud save and leaderboard data are held by Google Play Games under Google's security measures

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google Play Games

• Used for optional sign-in, cloud save, achievements and the Daily Challenge leaderboard
• Follows Google's privacy policy and terms of service

5.2 Google Play Services

• Used for core app functionality and authentication support
• Follows Google Play's privacy policy and terms of service

5.3 Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

• Used to receive anonymous crash reports so we can diagnose and fix bugs
• Processes the crash diagnostics described in section 1.2 only; does not collect your account information or game content
• Provided by Google and governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security Information and the Google Privacy Policy

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• On your device: Game data stays on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall it
• Cloud save: Your Google Play Games cloud save can be deleted from the Play Games app (Settings → Delete Play Games account & data) or your Google account
• Crash reports: Anonymous Crashlytics records are retained by Google for a limited period (up to 90 days)

7. Children's Privacy

Glow Path is suitable for all ages. However, users under 13 should use the App under parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Data Control

• View Data: You can view your game stats, achievements, and leaderboard rankings within the App
• Delete Data: Clear the App's data in your device settings to remove all local data; delete your Play Games cloud save from the Play Games app
• Sign Out: You can sign out of Google Play Games at any time via the Play Games app

8.2 Permission Management

• You can revoke Google Play Games access at any time through your Google Account settings
• You can manage app permissions in your device's system settings

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be published in the app with an updated "Effective Date." For significant changes, we will notify you within the app.
