Thank you for using Prayer Times Pro ("the App"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information Collection

1.1 Location Information

The App requests your device's location (GPS or network-based) solely for:

• Calculating accurate prayer times for your location
• Determining the Qibla (direction of prayer) toward Makkah
• Recommending the most suitable calculation method for your region

Coordinates are processed on-device and are not transmitted to our own servers. You may deny location permission at any time and manually select a city instead.

1.2 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to any server:

• Prayer time calculation preferences (method, madhab, time adjustments)
• Prayer tracking/check-in records
• Ramadan fasting records
• Dua (supplication) favorites
• Theme and language preferences
• Cached location data (for offline calculation)

1.3 Diagnostic & Analytics Data (via Firebase)

To keep the App stable and improve the user experience, we use Google Firebase services to collect a limited amount of non-personal diagnostic and usage data:

• Firebase Crashlytics: When the App crashes or encounters a fatal error, the following information is sent to Google: crash stack trace, exception type, device model, OS version, App version, language/region, available memory/storage, and a randomly generated Crashlytics Installation UUID. We use this data solely to diagnose and fix crashes.
• Firebase Analytics: Aggregated, non-personal usage events such as App launch, screen views, feature usage (e.g. which calculation method is used, whether notifications are enabled), session duration, App version, device model, OS version, country/region (derived from IP, not stored), a Firebase App Instance ID, and the Android Advertising ID (used by Firebase only to deduplicate analytics signals; we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertising networks). This helps us understand how the App is used and prioritize improvements.

This data is processed by Google on our behalf and retained according to Firebase's data retention policy (typically up to 14 months for Analytics events; up to 90 days for Crashlytics).

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

The App does NOT collect:

• Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number, address, etc.)
• Your precise GPS coordinates on our servers
• Your prayer logs, fasting records, Dua favorites, or any other content you create
• Browsing history, contact information, or any data from other apps

The App contains no advertising SDKs and does not display ads. The Advertising ID mentioned above is used solely by Firebase Analytics for analytics deduplication.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used exclusively to: (a) provide the App's core features (prayer times, Qibla, reminders, tracking); (b) diagnose crashes and stability issues; and (c) understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the App. We do not sell or rent any data.

3. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information. We share limited diagnostic and analytics data only with the third-party processors listed in Section 4 (Google/Firebase), and only for the purposes described above. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Third-Party Services

• Google Play Services (Location): Used to obtain device location on-device. Google's Privacy Policy
• Google Maps (Nearby Mosques): The "Nearby Mosques" feature redirects you to the Google Maps app. The App itself does not transmit user data through this feature.

5. Data Security

User content (prayer logs, fasting records, preferences, cached location) is stored locally on your device using Android's standard data protection mechanisms. Diagnostic and analytics data sent to Firebase is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Google's secure infrastructure under Google's data protection standards.

6. Your Choices & Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

• Location: Revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings.
• Notifications: Disable notifications at any time in Android Settings or within the App.
• Stop diagnostic/analytics collection: Uninstall the App to stop all further data collection. You may also clear App data from Android Settings to delete the locally cached Firebase Installation ID.
• Data subject requests: If you are located in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you may request access to or deletion of any data associated with your Firebase Installation ID by contacting us at the address below. Because we do not collect personal identifiers, we may need additional information (such as your Installation ID) to locate any associated records.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
