Welcome to AI Journal: Private Diary ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Overview

AI Journal: Private Diary is a mobile application that provides AI-powered journaling, mood tracking, emotion analysis, and personal reflection features. All AI processing happens on your device. The App is developed and maintained by an independent developer ("we", "us", or "our") under Parse Studio 9.

2. Use of the App

You may use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Distribute, sublicense, or sell the App or any part thereof
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Attempt to bypass the App's security features (PIN lock, encryption)

3. Mental Health Disclaimer

The App is a journaling and mood tracking tool only. It does not provide mental health advice, therapy, diagnosis, or treatment.

Important:

• AI-generated reflections, emotion analysis, and suggestions are for personal reference only — they are NOT professional mental health advice or therapy
• The App is not a substitute for professional counseling, psychotherapy, or medical treatment
• If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or emergency services immediately
• We are not responsible for any consequences arising from reliance on the App's AI-generated content

4. Pro Subscription

The App offers an optional Pro subscription:

• Free tier: All core features — journaling, mood tracking, activity tags, search, PIN lock, basic statistics, and 3 AI uses per day
• Pro tier: Unlimited AI features (emotion analysis, reflection prompts, text polishing), voice journaling, weekly/monthly AI reports, advanced statistics, data export (CSV/text), and future premium features
• Free Trial: New subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin
• Pricing: $0.99/week, $3.99/month, or $29.99/year. Auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Payment: Processed through Google Play. Subject to Google Play's refund policy
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refund for partial periods

5. Data Ownership

All data you create in the App (journal entries, mood records, photos, settings) belongs entirely to you. We do not access, store, or claim any rights to your data. You can export all data at any time.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, icons, and content, is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Play Billing — For processing Pro subscription payments
• Android AICore / LiteRT-LM — For on-device AI processing. The AI model runs locally on your device; no journal data is sent to external servers

Your use of these services is subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• AI-generated analysis, reflections, or suggestions will be accurate or helpful
• The App is suitable for medical or therapeutic purposes

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

• Mental health consequences from relying on AI-generated content
• Data loss due to device failure, App uninstallation, or technical issues
• Unauthorized access to journal content due to user's failure to set up security features

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
